Welcome
This website has been a way to showcase a few of my interests and talents. Feel free to browse around, read any and all of my writing samples, and don't forget to check out some of the fun theater photos!
About Me
I majored in both English and Theater at Goshen College. I have experimented with almost every aspect of theater available to me, including acting, designing set, costumes, hair and makeup, as well as stage managing, directing, scenic artistry and dabbling in lighting and sound. Thanks to the wonderful Technical Directors at both New World Arts, and at Goshen College, I have learned about technical theater, special effects and construction for the stage in addition to many other valuable and practical skills.
As for my interests in language, I have been privileged with the experience of mentoring up and coming writers, serving on the Pinchpenny Press board, and helping a friend with the layout and editing of her now-published book. I worked as a layout and copy editor for the school paper for several semesters, as well as writing far too many papers and poems--some of which you can read on the Writing Portfolio page.
I love both English and Theater, but sometimes wish I could have majored in art. I love painting and drawing (especially in relation to the stage), but have recently found that I thoroughly enjoy working with metals. Jewelry has become an artistic, and sometimes emotional outlet for me. Hammering a wire into the perfect shape, or simply melting something can be extraordinarily therapeutic.
